U9s Match Report 09/06/07

DONCASTER ROVERS U9’s

‘ The Blues Twos’

‘No away day blues for the Twos’

Saturday 9 June (Away)
v. Riversdale

Our second away game was a trip to Riversdale, and despite missing Lochie and Josh, we were confident of maintaining our improvement with every game.
In our new figure-hugging shirts, we looked dressed to impress the gathering of parents and spectators.

In the first half, we kept our positions very well, had most of the pressure and were unlucky not to score on several occasions. Again, our defence of Peter, Jeremy (aka Mal Michael) and Justin kept things very tight.

It remained a stalemate to half-time.

In the second half, Riversdale pushed up more, which gave us more space to work with. This we exploited extremely well, with Ari, in particularly, laying on some excellent passes and crosses for both Alex and Jonathon to score two each.

Any attacks were quickly stifled by our defence, and Kirk dealt with anything in goal.
Jack, James and Chris continue to improve, hold their positions and look to get involved more with every game, which can only contribute to the development of the team each week.

The game ended in a resounding and deserved 4 – 0 victory.

Great effort, boys!!!

Next week we are on our travels again, away against Richmond, 9am kick-off at Kevin Bartlett Reserve, Melway ref 45 A12.

So that means early to bed the night before (yes, that means you too, Jonathon!!!), ready for the early game.

C’mon the B2s
