Round 11 - U10 Blue - Match Report

DATE: 05.07.08 OPPONENTS: BORONIA LOCATION: BORONIA

UNFAIR RESULT FOR THE BLUES

The Doncaster Blues completed their first round of games with an unfair defeat by 0-3 at the hands of Boronia. The score line by no means is an indication of how the game was played. The Blues dominated in both halves but were unable to find an opening against a very tight and patched Boronia defense. With Marko in goals, not having a lot of work but clearing the ball our wide where both Ethan and Billy were pushing it out wide to Jake and Alexander, the Blues put together many good moves. In the centre, Tim was covering a lot of ground, and was being helped on many occasions by Stefan and Damian who had a great game in the centre of our defense.
Peter, James and Jack started for the first time as a three man strike force, but were unable to get a clear cut chance to put the ball in the net.
Corey and Michael helped also a lot in both halves, but it was the home team that scored first in the second half and when the Blues went all attacking to get one back, the home team scored twice on two counter attacks making it 3-0.

Overall, the Blues showed a lot of improvement in their first round of games. They now are a lot more aware of their role on the park; they are passing more efficiently and are a lot more confident with the ball. I believe that if they keep up the hard work they can only benefit as individuals and get great results as a team.
Our record for the first round of games was;
Played: 10
Won: 5
Drawn: 1
Lost: 4
Goals Scored: 28
Goals Against: 24

Great effort!
