Round 9 - U10 Blue - Match Report

DATE: 21.06.08 OPPONENTS: RIVERSDALE

LOCATION: RIVERSDALE

THE BLUES FIND FORM AGAIN…

After last week’s narrow loss (0-1) to Knox the Doncaster U10 Blues bounced back into their familiar form, winning away against Riversdale by 4-2. With a few changes in the middle of the park, with Declan and Tim making their presence felt and having out wide Jake who had a tremendous game and Alexander doing a lot of work on the right, it wasn’t long before James started to find the back of the net.
The Blues went up by 2-0 with goals coming from James and Justin. Riversdale managed to pull one back just before half time making the score line 2-1.
In the second half the tempo of the game went one gear up, with both teams playing great soccer. Our defense with Marko in charge, coming off his line on many occasions and with great clearances, made the job of Stefan (who had a great game), Corey, Damian, Ethan, Billy and Peter (who helped both in midfield and in defense) a lot easier. Christopher and Michael gave the Blues fresh legs and it wasn’t long before the Blues made it 3-1. A great counter attack with Jack making a great run and passing the ball to Tim, who made no mistake slotting another goal. Riversdale however didn’t give up, pulling one back and making it 3-2. However, it was Doncaster’s day with James scoring one more making the final score line 4-2.
Overall, it was a great performance from all the boys who put in a lot of effort and most of all there was a lot of constructive team play.

Well done!!!!
