An off day for the Under 10 Blues
It just wasn't meant to be for the Blues last Saturday against Brighton. Doncaster's undefeated run came to an end with the visitors scoring an impressive 7-3 win.
Lack of concentration, a series of defensive errors and not enough commitment, allowed Brighton to win a game that could have been ours, had we put in a little more effort.
The visitors were up two goals in the early stages of the game, but the Blues made a great comeback and equalized with goals comming from James and Jack. However, again Brighton was allowed to come into our half, scoring another two goals making the score 4-2.
The Blues pushed forward and managed to make it 4-3 just before half-time with Tim giving us a lot of hope for a better second half that unfortunately didn't arrive.
Brighton, making the most of the chances presented to them (the majority from our own mistakes), made it 5-3, 6-3 and finally 7-3. James' run and his shot hitting the upright was the best that the Blues had to show in the second half.
The lesson from this game was that we need to be a lot more focussed and committed to what we work for and what we talk about at training and before the game.
We now need to put this game behind us and look forward to our next game. We need to keep our heads high, believe in ourselves and work harder at training to improve as players, and as a unit.
Heads up and keep up the hard work!!
With Regards,
John
