Round 4 - U10 Joeys Blue - Match Report

It …rained goals for the U10 Blues
Doncaster – Whitehorse 8-1 !!! 17.05.2008

The Doncaster U10 Blues continued their impressive form, yet another week. In spite of the cold weather conditions and the constant rain ( which prompted Manuel to give our boys a marathon warm up to get them ready ) the ‘Blues’ army defeated Whitehorse by 8-1!

The game began with the ‘Blues’ putting on the pressure from the opening minutes and after a few good chances to take the lead, they finally opened the score line with Peter putting his name for the first time this season on the score sheet.

With a tight defense, controlled by Declan and Alexander in the middle and with Ethan and Corey on the sides, it gave the midfielders a lot more freedom to push forward.

Damian, in the middle with Billy and Justin to his sides, did a lot of work bringing the ball forward, where Jake was taking shot after shot and finally scoring another 2 for the ‘Blues’.

Christopher and Michael on the other hand were winning possession and distributing the ball out wide, where Timothy and James in the second half, were making a lot of runs producing another 3 goals for the ‘Blues’ with Timothy scoring twice and James scoring once more.

But it wasn’t just Peter that scored his first for the season, Stefan also finding the back of the net and Jack making his mark on the game yet again, with another great goal.

Marko, in goals wasn’t busy in the first half, but in the second half he produced again a few fine saves, but was unlucky to concede one goal. Overall, the boys once more played good attacking soccer and on many occasions, tried to put together a series of passes. It’s back to training this week (WEDNESDAY 5.30 P.M. SHARP…) where we need to continue the hard work, as we have another big game coming up on Saturday at home against Brighton.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!
