U9 Match Report 18/08/07

DONCASTER ROVERS U9’s

‘The Blues Twos’

‘Two’s too good with their neat passing!’

Saturday 18 August (Home)
v. Mooroolbark

We again had a player missing through illness, this time Jeremy, but still managed to record a comfortable win.

We played with more determination, looking to open up the opposition defence with neat, quick passing. Our first came from a nice pass from Josh to Jack, who finished it off by rounding the keeper.

Ari got back on the score sheet again, grabbing two by half time.

James was determined in defence with his tackling, whilst Lachie fitted in well to his role as centre half, keeping the defence organised. Justin was his reliable and unflustered self, reliably helping stifle any attacks.

Peter provided some nice touches and passes in midfield on the left, with Jack giving us balance on the right too.

In the second half, we tried to keep our shape and create space. Jonathon reliably winning possession for us in midfield and Alex providing the link between midfield and attack.

Though Mooroolbark had a few chances, Kirk was commanding in goal, and despite them grabbing one back, we pushed forward with Josh grabbing a second half hat-trick, one of which was a sweet move between Ari, Alex and finished by Josh.

A comfortable and pleasing 6 – 1 victory.

Keep it going boys, three games to go.

Next week we are at home against Richmond, trying to avenge our 3 – 2 defeat earlier in the season, 10am kick off at Anderson Park.

Season so far :- P 13 W8 D2 L3 Gls for 51 Gls Ag 28.
