Anderson Park Main Pitch was to Close

Doncaster Rovers Soccer Club Announces
Anderson Park Main Pitch was to close!

Good Afternoon Everyone,

I have just received a call from Council informing us that they are CLOSING the main pitch at Anderson Park.

Parks Department wants the pitch closed for TRAINING and FIXTURES.

Having spoken to Zac, and he agreed, to have games re-fixtured at this late stage would be impossible.

I explained to them that we have not had any teams training on the Main Pitch for two weeks and that the pitch is closed for all activity except fixtures until further notice.

After much discussion it has been AGREED, that we can continue to play games but no other activity whatsoever. Council officers will visit the venue during their trips during the day and during evenings to check that there is no other activity. Should they find any other activity except for official FFV fixtures they will IMMEDIATELY CLOSE ground. I explained to them that we have the Goalkeeper coach using the North West corner on Tuesday evenings for 1 hour and they are ok with that.

Urgent notice needs to go to all members.

Thanks

DRSC needs artificial grass pitches to guarantee that our kids get to play sport and not kicked off half way during a season.

And this will be the commitee's Number 1 priority to get for the club's members.
  • 2 artificial pitches up the top
  • 1 grassed main pitch.

We will achieve this by careful planning, budgeting and local, state and federal goverment grants of some kind.
